About Me
Hello there. My name is Shayna Korb. I’m a Ph.D student in clinical psychology at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. My dissertation research is on women who transition from modern to fundamentalist religious communities, and how their perception of mothering changes. Though I'm originally from Cleveland, OH, I've lived in Israel, London, Tucson, and most recently San Francisco. I have just moved to New York City and am getting my bearings transitioning from my life of classes and clients to research and writing. I love my family and friends, decaf espresso drinks, reading novels, and the outdoors. Most of my life, I've been driven to self improvement, and in reading the blogs out there, I felt there was something missing. A Space Within arose because I am fascinated by my ability to change and shift myself, and my dedication to spirituality. I wanted to find a way to bring a voice of quiet introspection to the projects of improving ourselves that so many of us have. If you'd like to connect in some way, write to me using the contact form below. You can also follow me on twitter, where I frequently post A Space Within related material, links and art that I like, as well as typical twitter silliness: @aspacewithin.
