Dreams

The word dreams has this interesting double meaning – they are that thing in the night, that other universe that you escape to with its weird but seemingly meaningful fanciful stories, but the world is also a way of expressing a goal or a vision. You might think that the double meaning is essentially negative – a way of expressing that someone’s goals are could never come true. But valuing the one seems to help us value the other. If you value your sense of inner knowing at night, you’ll tend to value your visions about your future. If you listen to the subtle messages and characters, and act upon those insights, you can learn to actualize your full self towards your visions.

The opposite can also be true. Your visions about the future may be set and unmovable. You are plowing toward them like a bulldozer, and you don’t want to listen to the voice of your unconscious at night. You think its are just fantastical nonsense, and you don’t have time to pursue the “whoo whoo” interpretation and process of going deep. Both my experience and what I’ve been taught lead otherwise. Your unconscious will find a way of making itself known – if you don’t listen to the more subtle nighttime messages, you’ll come to the same lessons eventually, but usually in a much more painful, obvious way. But if we concentrate on the positive, your dreams can be an incredible, rich, juicy way for you to learn about deeper, not so obvious layers of yourself.
